The Afloat Series: Petite Original Paintings

This series is an exploration of quiet moments on the water—the way light dances across ripples, reflections shift with every movement, and stillness can hold so much beneath the surface. Ducks and swans became my subjects for a reason: from above, they appear calm, graceful, and effortlessly at ease, while beneath the surface, their feet are constantly moving, treading water to keep them afloat. Much like us, they remind me that there is often far more happening beneath the surface than anyone can see. In these paintings, I wanted to capture both—the beauty of stillness and the quiet work of simply staying afloat.
